End-to-end encryption
Your secrets are encrypted directly on your device using the AES-256-CBC algorithm, one of the most reliable standards for protecting sensitive data. Encryption happens before sending, ensuring no one can access your information.
For each secret, a unique encryption key and a random initialization vector (IV) are generated, making the content unreadable and indecipherable without this information.
This key is never stored or transmitted, it is securely embedded in your unique link. Without this complete link, it is mathematically impossible to recover the secret.

Why should you avoid sharing passwords by email?
Sending a password by email, SMS, or messaging apps is still very common… but highly discouraged. If an email account is hacked, a phone is stolen, or a mistake is made, your credentials remain visible in plain text and can be reused at any time.
With Seecret.it, password sharing is done through an end-to-end encrypted link: the password never appears in the email, and the seecret self-destructs after it’s viewed or after the validity period you’ve defined.
